Mountain Coaster

Mountain Pipe Coaster Inauguration Day, June 10, 2021

The Camp Fortune team celebrated the installation of the new Mountain Pipe Coaster and took the first test run on June 10.th We had so much fun! This is such a great addition to Camp Fortune and we know you will enjoy it as much as we do. The adventure starts with a scenic chairlift ride to the top of the hill with great views of the Gatineau Park. The monorail site close to the ground and this is an important part of the experience. You really feel your speed as you twist and turn at speeds of up to 40 km thought the forest.

We first tested the Brandauer Mountain Pipe Coaster in 2017 at the Duerrnberg Resort in Austria and immediately started work on the approval process with the National Capital Commission. We chose this model because it is the perfect fit for a ski resort as sections can be removed in the winter, we could customize it to our terrain and use our existing chairlift. It was a natural fit for us and a much-needed adventure ride in the Ottawa / Gatineau Region.

Our coaster was to open in the summer of 2020 but as with so many things, the shipping and installation was delayed a year due to COVID and restrictions on international travel. Better late than never, we hope to open at the end of June 2021 and will confirm the date soon. In the mean time here is a sneak peek of the ride. See you soon!
