Every July we welcome participants from Students On Ice to our aerial park high ropes course as part of their pre-expedition discovery tour of Ottawa and the National Capital Region. They spend this time getting to know each other as they begin their journey on the Arctic Expeditions. We are thrilled to be a small part of such an incredible journey for so many young explorers.
Building Confidence Above the Trees
Leadership often begins outside our comfort zones. At Camp Fortune’s aerial park, participants challenged themselves both physically and mentally as they navigated aerial obstacles high among the forest canopy.
Every climb, balance beam, and zipline became an opportunity to practice resilience, communication, and trust. Participants encouraged one another through moments of uncertainty, celebrating each success as a team. These shared experiences not only built confidence but also strengthened friendships that will support the group throughout their Arctic journey. The aerial park served as a reminder that leadership is not about facing challenges alone—it’s about supporting others, embracing growth, and recognizing the value of collaboration.
