ski \u00e0 service complet, situ\u00e9 \u00e0 seulement 15 minutes du centre-ville d\u2019Ottawa-Gatineau, au c\u0153ur du parc de la Gatineau.<\/p><p>L\u2019histoire du d\u00e9veloppement de Camp Fortune montre l\u2019importance de cette station pour le d\u00e9veloppement des activit\u00e9s alpines dans la r\u00e9gion, et ce, depuis 1910 et jusqu\u2019\u00e0 nos jours.<\/p><p>Camp Fortune s\u2019est souvent m\u00e9rit\u00e9 les \u00e9loges des gouverneurs g\u00e9n\u00e9raux, qui ont f\u00e9licit\u00e9 le Club de ski d&rsquo;Ottawa pour son r\u00f4le dans la promotion de la vie active dans la r\u00e9gion.<\/p><ul><li><strong>Datant de 1920, Camp Fortune est l\u2019un des plus anciens centres de ski alpin au Canada.<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>Camp Fortune \u00e9tait le premier site d\u2019entra\u00eenement des olympiens Betsy Clifford, Anne Heggtveit, Patrick Biggs et Crispin Lipscomb.<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>L\u2019olympien Patrick Biggs est l\u2019actuel pr\u00e9sident du Camp Fortune Ski Club en plus d\u2019y \u00eatre un entra\u00eeneur.<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>Il y a 11 ans, nous avons \u00e9tendu nos activit\u00e9s et ajout\u00e9 un parc a\u00e9rien et des parcours de tyroliennes afin d\u2019offrir des aventures excitantes tout au long de l\u2019ann\u00e9e.<\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div Ses membres dirigeaient ses activit\u00e9s depuis Rockliffe Park, Ottawa. Le club a construit des tours de saut \u00e0 ski dans Rockliffe Park et, plus tard, \u00e0 Camp Fortune. M\u00eame s\u2019il s\u2019agissait d\u2019une activit\u00e9 populaire, seule une petite proportion des membres pratiquaient cette discipline, lui pr\u00e9f\u00e9rant le ski de fond.<\/p><p>Le dimanche \u00e9tait jour de ski et les skieurs avides se r\u00e9unissaient \u00e0 la gare d\u2019Ottawa, \u00e9quipement en main, pour prendre le train direction nord jusqu\u2019\u00e0 Kirk\u2019s Ferry, o\u00f9 ils commen\u00e7aient leur randonn\u00e9e jusqu\u2019\u00e0 Camp Fortune. De 1921 \u00e0 1932, les collines de la Gatineau \u00e9taient remplies de skieurs qui faisaient leur chemin le long d\u2019un r\u00e9seau de sentiers depuis Wrightville (Hull, aujourd\u2019hui Gatineau) jusqu\u2019\u00e0 la ferme de McCloskey et au chalet ouest et Camp Fortune, pr\u00e8s de 100 km de sentiers en tout. Les sentiers \u00e9taient entretenus et surveill\u00e9s par les \u00ab coureurs de nuit \u00bb b\u00e9n\u00e9voles du Club de ski Ottawa avant que la Commission de la capitale nationale ne commence les patrouilles du parc de la Gatineau.<\/p><p>Parmi les visiteurs c\u00e9l\u00e8bres, on compte le gouverneur g\u00e9n\u00e9ral Willingdon (1926), Lord Tweedsmuir (1935), le gouverneur g\u00e9n\u00e9ral Alexander (1946), Son Altesse Royale, la princesse Alice, la Grande-Duchesse de Luxembourg, le Prince Bernhard des Pays-Bas (1943), le tr\u00e8s honorable George P. route et sa proximit\u00e9 \u00e0 la ville, Camp Fortune est devenu la destination privil\u00e9gi\u00e9e pour les skieurs d\u2019Ottawa et de Hull (d\u00e9sormais Gatineau). De 1925 jusqu\u2019\u00e0 1930, le r\u00e9seau de sentiers rayonnait autour du Camp Fortune et des d\u00e9veloppements plus importants ont \u00e9t\u00e9 introduits avec l\u2019ouverture de Slalom Hill en 1932, la premi\u00e8re \u00ab colline ouverte \u00bb (descente) au Camp Fortune. Cet ajout a \u00e9t\u00e9 suivi par l\u2019installation du premier remonte-pente \u00e0 corde en 1940. La colline a radicalement chang\u00e9 entre 1932 et 1959, avec l\u2019ouverture de pistes qui composent la plupart de ce que propose Camp Fortune aujourd\u2019hui dans le domaine du ski alpin.<\/p><p>La Commission du district f\u00e9d\u00e9ral (maintenant connue sous son nom de la Commission de la capitale nationale) a \u00e9t\u00e9 fond\u00e9e en 1927 et, en 1947, cette commission a accept\u00e9 d\u2019aider Camp Fortune dans la poursuite du d\u00e9veloppement de la station de ski r\u00e9cr\u00e9atif. La zone Vall\u00e9e a \u00e9t\u00e9 inaugur\u00e9e entre 1947 et 1959 avec trois nouvelles pistes. On a ouvert la zone Skyline en 1959, avec l\u2019installation d\u2019un remonte-pente \u00e0 soucoupes et en 1961 on a ajout\u00e9 un t\u00e9l\u00e9si\u00e8ge.<\/p><p>\u00c0 mesure que les modes de transport \u00e9voluent, on a modifi\u00e9 l\u2019infrastructure de Camp Fortune. \u00c0 une certaine \u00e9poque, tous les skieurs arrivaient d\u2019Ottawa et de Wrightville par train, puis la Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 des transports de Hull a commenc\u00e9 \u00e0 organiser des transports par autobus. Avec la popularit\u00e9 de la voiture, des changements additionnels ont d\u00fb \u00eatre apport\u00e9s, car l\u2019acc\u00e8s actuel par le chemin Dunlop \u00e9tait r\u00e9serv\u00e9 aux autobus. En 1955, on a ouvert le premier parc de stationnement au chalet du Camp Fortune, permettant aux skieurs d\u2019arriver avec leur propre voiture.<\/p><p>Entre 1921 et 1964 des chalets ont \u00e9t\u00e9 construits ou agrandis pour r\u00e9pondre \u00e0 l\u2019int\u00e9r\u00eat croissant pour le ski alpin. Parmi les plus importants, on comptait le \u00ab grand chalet blanc \u00bb, officiellement inaugur\u00e9 par Lord Tweedsmuir en 1939, et le chalet principal du Camp Fortune datant de 1964. Malheureusement, ces deux chalets ont depuis br\u00fbl\u00e9. L\u2019actuel chalet principal du Camp Fortune a \u00e9t\u00e9 construit en 1994 avec des agrandissements en 1995 et \u00e0 l\u2019automne 1999. Dans les ann\u00e9es 1960, le conseil a adopt\u00e9 une approche entrepreneuriale et a pris des d\u00e9cisions qui permettraient d\u2019assurer la croissance continue du club et le d\u00e9veloppement du Camp Fortune. En 1972, le Club a achet\u00e9 les concessions d\u00e9tenues par diff\u00e9rentes entit\u00e9s tout au long du d\u00e9veloppement de la station.<\/p><p>En 1994, Peter et Robert Sudermann, propri\u00e9taires et gestionnaires d\u2019une station de ski pr\u00e8s de Winnipeg, ont achet\u00e9 le Camp Fortune. Les fr\u00e8res ont imm\u00e9diatement commenc\u00e9 \u00e0 am\u00e9liorer et \u00e0 agrandir les infrastructures existantes. Les Sudermanns ont sign\u00e9 un contrat de location \u00e0 long terme pour les terrains de la Commission de la capitale nationale et ils se sont engag\u00e9s \u00e0 cr\u00e9er et \u00e0 maintenir la meilleure station de ski, offrant des de services complets, ouverte \u00e0 l\u2019ann\u00e9e; dans la grande r\u00e9gion de la capitale canadienne, Ottawa.<\/p><p>Le Club de ski Ottawa est r\u00e9cemment revenu \u00e0 son nom d\u2019origine et op\u00e8re toujours un programme r\u00e9gulier de ski de comp\u00e9tition au Camp Fortune. Au fil des ans, la programmation \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9cole de ski du Camp Fortune a mis l\u2019accent sur l\u2019encadrement et l\u2019instruction, ce qui a permis au Camp Fortune de devenir l\u2019un des meilleurs centres de ski en famille dans la r\u00e9gion. En automne, les travaux d\u2019installation du nouveau syst\u00e8me de canons \u00e0 neige ont \u00e9t\u00e9 achev\u00e9s. Nous offrons donc plus de neige, de meilleures conditions et plus de ski!<\/p><p>Les avantages des canons HKD r\u00e9sident principalement dans le fait qu\u2019ils sont des canons \u00e0 haute efficacit\u00e9, c\u2019est-\u00e0-dire qu\u2019ils convertissent plus d\u2019eau en neige tout en utilisant moins d\u2019air. Ce qui permet \u00e0 un plus grand nombre de canons de fabriquer davantage de neige de meilleure qualit\u00e9 \u00e0 un rythme acc\u00e9l\u00e9r\u00e9.
